He does NOT have to balloon up. He can choose not to drain himself to get to 168. I know how fighters get to their weights, lets stop the cap.

He can easily come in between 170-175 for weigh in and not shrink down to 168. How can you say that when I never spoke on Canelo and Floyd? How you know i didn't feel the same way? I don't like catchweights period. But Floyd and him fought at 152 (2 lb difference), not a 5 lb difference. He might as well ask him to fight at 168.

Like I said, the catch weight isn't even the issue, it's the short notice to demand someone to come down 5 lbs and you only go up 2 which is easy af and requires no work for Canelo. Its literally just easing the process for him.

Bro that man said he would fight Canelo at 168.. Canelo pushed the fight back to November for 170. Whats the real issue here??

Ah, come on now man. Canelo deserves as much criticism as anyone else, but to say that moving up a weight class means a fighter just needs to stop draining themselves is absurd.

Andre Ward in his second weight class needed multiple tune ups before facing Kovalev. Yet it's preposterous for Canelo to ask for a catch weight in his fourth weight class? Dude is not a natural LHW fighter, he's only going up because his deal with Plant looks to have fallen through.

He was also coming off a long layoff. It wasn’t just the tune ups.

Bivol been saying for the past year he's ready to go down to 168 for canelo. And you just said anything above 168 is light heavy. So what's the problem?.....bivol obviously has no issue with it so why should you?

You said canelo should fight him at 175 so there's no doubts. Do you have any doubts about Floyd's victory over canelo even though it happened at 152?.....Do you still give Floyd credit or did you put an asterisk on it cause Canelo had to drain himself?.... Floyd already fought Oscar at 154 so why couldn't he do the same for canelo?......Floyd coulda made it for 154 and still weighed in at 150. That was within the rules right?


The bottom line is that canelo is the money man now just like Floyd was. He don't gotta make concessions for any of these dudes. They're the ones begging him for a fight not the other way around. You never seen canelo calling bivol out. But bivol said dozens of times he's ready to come down whenever canelo wants. So If canelo takes him up on that offer there's absolutely no room for criticism. None. This was bivols choice. Nobody elses. He's a grown ass man. He knows what his body is capable of.

So I just read Coppinger's write up and he has quotes from Bivol's team saying they agreed to a 172lb catcheweight and came to terms before Canelo and his team pulled out. This is becoming a reoccurring theme...

I Called it. Gimmie my rep!....Canelo just playing chess right now. This has been the routine for years. If he can't make a fight with the opponent he really wants, he uses another fighter as leverage. And it works everytime. That's how you get the best deal possible for yourself. And that's why being a free agent is always the best route to take.

Canelo's just letting Al haymon know he holds all the cards right now. Wouldn't even be surprised if haymon hit him up directly once he seen how close he was to signing with bivol. PBC does not wanna lose this opportunity to land canelo. It's a golden opportunity for all parties.
