Not that he did anything wrong, but heavy emphasis on that zero even if it meant fighting Berto types to keep it definitely affected the culture. Porter was out there, Thurman was out there, Garcia was out there, etc. Let's be honest too, to a lot of casuals Floyd was boring. They were tuning in to see if he'd finally lose. It became a marketing tool. Calling himself the best ever, we know its nonsense, but people eat that up. That wasnt lost on these networks promoters, and younger fighters in tune with social media.

Floyd fought 16 world Champs back to back. He fought Canelo, Maidana 2x and Pacquaio back to back to back to back. Fighting Berto was consolation for that tough road in his mid to late 30s. Come on now.

That mean they was all not that good in the beginning…the best man will win. That’s the cool thing about boxing, man against man. Now we just got to bring Usyk in the mix..who already had a HOF career at cruiser. I welcome it. Boxing need to weed out the frauds. We got frauds getting to 25 fights and a belt before the training wheels get took off and they have a real fight.
