I'm talking about prospect days not after when they graduated to contenders and had title fights. Nobody was really on Hurd like that back then.honestly i thought he would be a second tier type of 154 pounder.....def didn't see him beating hurd lol
He puts your boy into action moviesI told nikkas for years about wilder....for years![]()
Was watching this Roy interview and noticed he started speaking in a British accent halfway through.....The way he pronounced "advantages" and "can't"
....Don't know if it was intentional or not but shyt got me weak. Must be all that time he been spending with the eubanks

But I never thought Wilder was more skillful than Fury, ortiz, Joshua, usyk & and a host of other current heavyweights.
I think that he was calculated and had the physical gifts to succeed despite that.
And had Wilder had better stamina, he had a great chance to win last night, despite the skill deficit.
Fury, as good as he is, didn't do anything special to win last night, just basic skills and had better stamina.
N some if y’all wonder why About Buffetts is on an allowance from Al

I DO blame Wilder (and his crew) for his stamina. Wilder was a devastating (and fast) puncher in the 210's. RISKING stamina and speed loss due to bulking wasn't worth it. If I was coaching him, I wouldn't trust his stamina conservation skills enough to risk letting him bulk (considering whom he is historically, as a fighter) Wilder 2018 (physique wise) with his new boxing approach had a much better chance. BEcause he'd have had a chance at a 2nd or 3rd wind to end him. He was pretty much done stamina wise, as he entered the last 2/3rd's of the fight. He desperately needed more stamina to win last night. Be clear. I'm not saying he'd automatically win. But fury (whom wasn't fighting super great himself) would had to have faced a much more threatening Wilder (in the 2nd half) had he not bulked.Yes and no.
You kinda create your own stamina (or hold onto it) by not throwing (and not landing) huge, obvious punches in rnd 2 that have no business in the pro ranks, let alone amateur ranks.
Wilder has only himself to blame for being gassed by rnd 3.
IMO he looks to have really quite decent V02 max and anaerobic/aerobic capacity for a man of his size.
Problem is he doesn't know how to use it.
FWIW I salute Wilder for how strong his resilience was to keep fighting under such duress. Man can stay in the hunt that's for sure.
