Crawford says Canelo would be bad for Spence

“I don’t think that would be a good fight for Spence because he’s right there for Canelo,” said Terence Crawford to the DAZN Boxing Show when asked about Spence moving up to fight Canelo.

“Canelo is the bigger, stronger fighter, bigger puncher. For Spence to be right there in front of him trying to kick down the front door, you’re giving him [Canelo] everything he wants.

Lara will move. Caleb Plant is right in front of you. Definitely,” said Crawford when asked if Plant is ‘tailormade’ for Canelo because he’ll stand directly in front of him, unlike Lara, who uses movement.
“Lara’s legs are different than Caleb Plant’s. Yeah,” said Crawford when asked if Lara is a ‘harder fight’ for Canelo than Caleb Plant.
“Because Lara is going to move more than Caleb. He’s going to move with that Cuban style. “He’s [Plant] capable of beating Canelo, but it’s going to be tough,” Crawford said.
Plant does move around the ring. It’s unclear what gave Crawford the impression that Plant is a stationary fighter, as he’s able to move when he’s fighting opposition with a big punch

That's about as much respect as I've seen bud give another fighter. For him to even admit canelo would have a rightful claim to #1 if he becomes undipsuted


And he's dead on with his analysis of a Spence vs canelo fight. Spence has the style that canelo lives for. Come forward pressure fighter who's always there to be hit. It's not even that Spence isn't a great fighter. Canelo is just all wrong for him.

He's also correct with his plant vs canelo breakdown. Plant is known as a slick guy but he's nowhere near Lara. He doesn't have the reflexes or the foot speed. And he doesn't have the stamina either. Which is why he goes through stretches where he gets flat footed and stops moving his head. And that's in fights where he's controlling the entire pace. What's gonna happen when he faces a guy who's not only gonna be applying pressure but also who's gonna be making him miss 80% of his punches?....caleb will have a much harder time connecting on canelo than vice versa. So who's really the "slick" guy in this matchup?

I'm actually thinking a good 10 month rest then back to training.. So a year, hopefully he is in good health.
