MIA to ATL
Sounds sympathetic, good on him that he got picked up so quick after the Baranchyk win. Wondering who Eddie can get him though as his roster isn't that populous in the US, but he can still roll out some names

I'm rooting for Tana , I just need to see him lock in and focus on Boxing. He has a lot of businesses and side projects going on. If he can focus on Boxing full time then he's going to challenge for a belt.

Canelo: What Has Golovkin Done Since He Fought Me? Nothing!

"I am ready for everything, I am ready to make the best fights. You [journalists] hang on to that [the trilogy fight]. I'm doing more important things than him. Where is he? What has he done since he fought me? Nothing."

"I am doing other important things in my career. Beating champions, undefeated fighters."

What has he done since he fought me?

he beat Devy in a good fight. He ain't lose :yeshrug:

Canelo needs to come to terms that there is a reason people keep bringing GGG up. He will forever be prominently linked to those GGG fights, they might be the defining moment of his legacy. He be sounding so frustrated like he don't understand why people want a 3rd fight. Maybe that frustration will motivate him even more to "distance" himself from the GGG narrative he can't seem to shake by fighting Charlo, Andrade types after he beats Plant :jbhmm:

you're absolutely right...ppl are always going to bring GGG up for him no matter what..him facing Plant is not going to change that..everyone knows Plant has been weak as champion..thats why there isn't a lot of confidence or predictions of Plant even being competitive much less beating him....people know what time it is :russ:..a 39 year old Triple Gawd is still levels above Caleb Plant and far more dangerous..it is what it is

But who exactly is asking for a golovkin trilogy?....and that's canelo's point. Boxing fans have moved on. The only people still asking for a 3rd fight are the same media who created the golovkin hype machine in the first place.

No hardcore boxing fans are craving for a 3rd fight. Are you?....We've all moved on from it. And we all know how it's gonna end anyway. Canelo ruined that man in the rematch. It's also funny how golovkin has been able to escape that sore loser tag from the media. After canelo walked him down and battered him he still had the nerve to say canelo didn't fight like a "Mexican". He refused to give canelo his respect and even fired his trainer for saying he didn't stand his ground enough. Golovkin showed his true colors in defeat. Same way Wilder did. But for some reason he got no criticism for it:sas1:

Canelo is on the best streak of his career and he already said he's ready for charlo and benavidez next. He's been chasing greatness. It's time for golovkin to do the same :yeshrug:

But who exactly is asking for a golovkin trilogy?

I mean who asked for half the fights Canelo made after the GGG fight?
Was there really huge demand for this Plant fight, or is it just the natural progression since Canelo came up with this unification goal of his
Honestly I'm not sure how you quantify what "the fans" want outside of obvious shyt like Manny/Floyd, Spence/Bud, Fury/Joshua but it must be some demand somewhere for the media to constantly bring the trilogy up for years now. I think even now GGG/Canelo is the biggest fight out there for him. Moving up to fight Kov, this unification thing are being spun as legacy moments for Canelo but it seems like those are things that will "came and went" and the GGG fights will still linger as the biggest talking points. The fact GGG is still being bought up in the lead up to the Plant fight basically proves that, no?

its telling..all you have to do is sort the total replies in the ring threads..we are majority hardcores in here

ggg vs canelo 1 is among the top 10 for all time posts in this forum, ggg vs canelo 2 is top 20..the only other canelo fight thread in top 20 is the canelo-cotto thread and the bjs fight thread is a little bit outside of top 20..after that you go on the 2nd page lol

yea i was thinking about this because MAYBE the media is the only one that wants that fight.......but then the media only cares about clicks and views. :jbhmm:
so if the media is driving a narrative then naturally it's only because that's the topic that they see generating the most interest on whatever medium/platform they work on
basically what incentive does the media have to constantly bring up ggg unless they have evidence that's something people actually care about otherwise it's a waste of time

Canelo is making more money vs plant than he did in either golovkin fight. Matter of fact his purse guarantee in this fight is 8 times bigger than the guarantee he got for the golovkin rematch. 5mil vs 40. So when you say it's the biggest fight out there for him, in what aspect?....cause it's obviously not money. And it sure as hell isn't legacy.

What exactly does another win over golovkin do for canelo's legacy or his pockets that he's not already getting?....even if he puts golovkin to sleep the stan's will just say golovkin was old and washed up. Do you honestly believe beating an over the hill golovkin again does more for canelo's legacy than becoming the first undisputed champ in 168 history?....Does it do more for his legacy than beating a prime Charlo and benavidez?....will it even do that much better at the box office than those fights?

Like I said. The only people keeping this trilogy shyt alive are the same media who still can't accept that golovkin never lived up to the hype they built around him. They're still clinging onto the hope that he can finally land that big signature win and actually justify his position on those all time great lists they prematurely placed him on. It's really that simple.

Just like canelo said. Look at what he's done since that rematch and look at what golovkin has done. Canelo did 73k in cowboy stadium. His fights are massive events with or without golovkin. Meanwhile golovkins last fight was on a Friday night going up against everybody loves raymond reruns:picard:

Golovkin needs canelo more than canelo needs him. Both money wise and legacy wise. It's just the facts:manny:
