Do we really need to see Hopkins dismantle ANOTHER young lion? Stevenson is tailor made for Hopkins man. The KO was cool but fools gold man. Smoger would have not stopped that fight.

I too thought if it were Smoger he wouldve let it continue...but every time I look at that fight, I have doubts he or anyone else would have. The thing is...on TV Chad looked fine and his head was clear, even when he hit the deck. If you notice, his eyes were on his opponent, he took his time to get up, he told the ref he was ok. (even though he didnt put his gloves up) he even immediately protested.

what we did not see however was below his torso. he had no legs whatsoever. he was leaning sideways...long after the stoppage even.

but after watching a few minutes of hopkins-pascal, to refresh my memory on pascal, u might be right. i've always looked at pascal as a poor man's rjj. he's fast, can punch, good footwork, and i think thats what gave hopkins a problem in the first half of the first fight then he figured his ass out.

i find it amazing how sloppy he can be at times swingin wildly, with lead left hooks and looping rights, stamina is bad.

stevenson getting strached by boone, make people think he's has chin issues,t i don't think thats the case. that was just a helluva punch he didn't see coming. boone dropped ward as well.

if pascal and stevenson fought, i give the nod to stevenson. i like stevenson from a technical standpoint than pascal, both guys defense are shaky.

you got a point there. I think the ref had an itchy trigger finger to begin with...but Chad should know this anyway. still his damn fault. All I think about it when that mf cheated for Bute and stole victory from Andrade. he reffed the Gamboa fight.

He lives off athleticism more than Dawson does. the only way I give Stevenson an edge is because of Sugar Hill and what he learned from Manny. His punching technique is precise. He is very basic otherwise.

its funny how pascal does go off his athleticism but ever since he moved up to 175 his stamina has been absolute shyt...I was besides myself watching that chad-pascal fight...there was like 3 times chad had him ready to go and he would let him off the hook..yet pascal also came close to ko'ing chad..it was a wild fight overall

As far as the Pascal/Stevenson comparisons go, I honestly would prefer they not fight each other just because they're both Haitian born Canadians, brothers need to stick together

Pascal has never impressed me, though I acknowledge his 175 run from Diacanu to Dawson. Even in the Dawson fight however, he won with activity, each time Dawson decided to throw punches he landed and hurt Pascal yet he let him off the hook each time for no apparent reason, a bizarre fight to watch. His first fight with Hopkins was highway robbery and the 2nd solidified that. He's fast and strong, much like Tavoris Cloud, just with slightly better outside boxing technique.

Stevenson is not a better pure boxer than Dawson, but fast and strong enough to do what he did last week, and that goes for any top tier fighter at 175. He's also gotten a LOT better since working with the late ES. The fighter who lost to Boone in 2010 and the fighter who defeated Boone in 2012 are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BEASTS.

Pascal should be better , but he is a lost cause - there are a half a dozen Jean Pascal's of the world that rely on God given power over all else. Stevenson has some boxing skill mixed with raw power and could give any LHWs problems and I think he would beat B-Hop since if you throw over 90 punches a round you essentially will win by default since Hopkins can not fight that type of fight anymore and the thing is would Stevenson be too proud.

Dawson never seems to care in fights minus the first round of Ward, the two Hopkins fights and the Adamek fight. He never, ever should of thrown a lazy jab that a straight could get thrown over and allow Stevenson's foot to be in the position to get maximum torque. Dawson just is a lost cause who should be a co-main eventer from now on like Gamboa. Hell now that he is a free agent he should sign to SMS , he matches their standard.

It's that fukking Tookie Williams workout shyt. Putting on too much muscle is bad and Pascal comes in looking like Mr.Universe and then needs oxygen after the fifth since his gas tank begins fight at half empty.


Also good night of fights tonight, Friday Night Fights card. Don't know too much about the card, but I saw that a gym near me "THE Kennel" has some fighters on the card as well as Mr. Yeah Dow headlining NBC Sports as well. Should be some fun fights
