Only rationale other then he threw the fight, was Seth didnt give him any openings and it looked like the fact Mitchell out weighed him by 30 lbs was bothering Banks. Mitchells punches moved Banks all over the place even when they didnt land cleanly. I think Banks got hit with a right hand that hurt him and got gun shy.
