Yeah, I just cant see Haymon wanting his top fighters at 140lb to fight each other without knowing that he can replace one or the other and right now, LM is still hard to market to America, so he cant replace Danny Garcia.


Die-hard boxing fans know him, but the casuals have NO idea who he is and he isnt that marketable here yet.


Danny Garcia has his own fans, is marketable, and is undefeated. He can fight Floyd, lose, and still be the 140lb champ and fight LM down the line.


Also, its ridiculous that anyone thinks that Haymon would put LM in the ring with Adrien Broner when that's a High Risk - Low Reward type of fight.....and those type of fights arent in the "Haymon Handbook"

He's not fighting Floyd, because that's his people. Why does he have to fight his idol just to please someone else ESPECIALLY when he said he will fight anyone else....including Pacquiao and Marquez (easy work he called those 2)


He doesnt even HAVE to fight Floyd at this point, because he's making 1+ million dollar pay days fighting people like Gavin Rees and Pauletta on Cable TV

'Sergio isn't scared of fighting Golovkin'

You might be wondering what Sergio Martinez thinks of fellow middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin, the detonator from Kazakhstan who stopped Matthew Macklin in Round 3 of their clash Saturday night in Foxwoods.

Martinez had faced Macklin himself, last year in New York, and in that scrap the Macklin corner kept their man on his stool rather than send him out for Round 12.

I reached out to Team Martinez and touched base with Nathan Lewkowicz, whose father Sampson Lewkowicz promotes Martinez, along with Lou DiBella. "Sergio is a fighter and he's not scared of fighting Golovkin at all, and he knows he has the style and experience to beat him," Nathan told me. "I think if Golovkin, who I think is a nice guy, a great fighter and the future of HBO, continues to build his name and become more mainstream then we could see them in the ring in the future. Sergio's next fight will be pay-per-view and you need another solid, mainstream fighter to sell it. I spoke to my father, and he says that Sergio would toy with Golovkin."

I am with you breh. Thats all I am saying is...I want to see Garcia-Matthysse. I know it wasnt an official tourney...hell, we knew that when the last fight was at 141 with no belts on the line.

If Garcia can get a Broner fight...thats a better look all around and certainly not a duck. I asked a legitimate question about the holdup....I know everyone thinks Danny is ducking but what facts or sources do we really have. Did LM agree to the testing? If he did...then there is no excuse unless there is a fight on the table for bigger bucks.

thats what I was telling Black Jesus. he wants to see the fight so one fighter's marketability can rub off on the other. Meanwhile, I want to see the fight because I think it will be a damn good fight. LM deserves the fight but at the same time, this business shyt is shady. He is just not on the same level as Garcia as far as his marketability. If he gets him in the ring and KOs him, then he will be a star...but those loses haunt him still. If LM was undefeated and Peterson wouldve not had that controversy after Khan....it may have been different. Schaefer tried to get a lil boost in there talmbout here is the next Manny Pacquiao...as if :flabbymanny: is or something.

GBP...Haymon...nobody is doing whats best for boxing and its fans they are doing whats best for their wallets...dollar for dollar.

its not a revision. what I say and what the general public say is two different things. I picked Peterson but I MYSELF can NOT lend him credibility, nor can I MYSELF abolish his tainted win over Khan. That is something that the public has to decide. To me it was a great win for LM...but what does the general public say?

How do you figure that when it doesnt have to be? You dont know what wheels are turning in the minds of GBP and Haymon...nor do you know the deals being passed around everyday.

Yall seem to think promoters and managers give a damn about what we want. The only time that applies is if the dollars make sense. Broner looking for another belt....and going through Peterson before he wins another fight of note is a cheap way that I dont think they want.....not RIGHT after the Paulie fight.

Yall think shyt happens in advance...in boxing...you have to wait for outcomes. What if Broner wins...if he wins how does he look? Does he look for opponents at 147....or 140...

its all about options. If there were no Broner....a Garcia-LM fight wouldve been signed.

Broner has more big money options....LM and Garcia have less. so if the opportunity presents itself...they would rather go for Broner first. Well broner is too big for 135 so lets rule that out. At 140 he can fight with any of those guys and a good opponent with a strap the boxing public knows is Peterson. Of course broner could fight at 147 but I don't think he should be fighting a boxer who could punch at 147, at least not after the paulie fight. He could fight josesito lopez or Maidina but I'd say both those fights are lose lose. Or they could say fukk all this nonsense and put him right up against Danny swift (he's got a zero) to build hype for a fight against Floyd (only a year from now??)

Thats why I think broner drops to 140 fights peterson which is a good scrap btw and he could pick up a belt as well.

LM already has enough clout to fight Danny Swift. If they don't fight the only respectable reason would be if Danny got a shot at broner (too soon) or floyd (too soon). And there is money in all of these fights

Rios Alvarado 2 started off nice but the last 4 rounds or so was nothing special
