Whilst Amir Khan was begging Floyd with an empty china white plate waiting to be fed!!

lol Floyd did him dirty cause didn't Floyd drop a poll on who he should fight next and Khan won and he still picked someone else?

I still :dead: at Mayweather last fight coming down to either Berto or Karim Mayfield. I remember vividly how disgusted @patscorpio was about that cause i was just really getting back into boxing :dead:

I wasn’t mad at it. To take a significant step down in opponents like that indicated he was done with the sport. That was a retirement fight just to fulfill his contract obligations, and get Berto paid.

Hector Garcia-Lamont Roach Mandatory Title Fight Ordered By WBA

Hector Garcia now has mandatory obligations ahead after taking his shot at greatness.
BoxingScene.com has confirmed the reigning WBA junior lightweight titlist is required to next face number-one contender Lamont Roach. The sanctioning body has instructed both camps to begin negotiations for their mandatory title fight which is due to take place no later than May 20.
The deadline for the actual fight to take place is likely to be extended. The clock is already ticking, however, for the process to actually deliver the fight.
“The World Boxing Association (WBA) Championships Committee has notified Dominican Hector Garcia, current Super Featherweight champion, that his mandatory opponent is American Lamont Roach, currently ranked number one in the WBA rankings, on Monday, March 20,” WBA Championship Committee chairman Carlos Chavez stated in a formal letter to both boxers, of which a copy was obtained by BoxingScene.com. “oth parties have 30 days to negotiate and send the contracts to the WBA Championships Committee before April 19, 2023.
“Should any of the parties express their unwillingness to negotiate, the Championships Committee will call for an auction, the percentage of which will be divided as follows: 75% for the champion and 25% for the mandatory challenger.”
Garcia fights under the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) banner, while Roach is signed to Golden Boy Promotions.
Garcia (16-1, 10KOs; 3NC) claimed the WBA 130-pound belt in a 12-round decision victory over Roger Gutierrez last August 20 in Hollywood, Florida.
The win came with the understanding that he would be granted a voluntary fight as long as he honored his mandatory obligation within the nine-month period to make such a title defense. The 31-year-old Dominican southpaw used that opportunity to challenge for Gervonta Davis’ WBA ‘Regular’ lightweight title, though he suffered his first defeat when Davis’ late power surge momentarily left Garcia with compromised vision as he was forced to quit after eight rounds this past January 7 at Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C.
Roach (23-1-1, 9KOs) became the mandatory challenger after a twelve-round win over Angel Rodriguez in their WBA final eliminator last July 16 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Judges Raul Caiz Sr. (116-112), Pat Russell (116-112) and Zachary Young (117-111) in favor of Roach, a 27-year-old contender from the greater D.C. area who has won four in a row since a points loss to Jamel Herring in their November 2019 WBO junior lightweight title fight.
Per WBA by-laws, neither fighter can pursue another bout once a sanctioned fight is officially ordered. Failure by Garcia to defend would result in his being stripped of the title, while any inability by Roach to proceed with the challenger will end with his having to forfeit his current ranking.

Janibek Alimkhanuly-Steven Butler Main Event Set For May 13 On ESPN; Venue TBD

Janibek Alimkhanuly’s handlers had difficulty securing the type of opponent the WBO middleweight champion wanted for his second title defense.
BoxingScene.com has learned that the Kazakh southpaw therefore will defend his 160-pound championship against Steven Butler on May 13. ESPN will televise the Alimkhanuly-Butler bout as a 12-round main event, but the venue for the card they will headline hasn’t been solidified.
Former WBO junior middleweight champ Liam Smith is the WBO’s number one contender for Alimkhanuly’s title, but Smith is contractually obligated to an immediate rematch with Chris Eubank Jr.
Smith (33-3-1, 20 KOs) upset Eubank (32-3, 23 KOs) by fourth-round technical knockout January 21 at AO Arena in Manchester England. Liverpool’s Smith and Brighton’s Eubank don’t have a date for their second bout, but Smith is unavailable to challenge Alimkhanuly (13-0, 8 KOs) next due to their rematch clause.
Second-ranked Jaime Munguia (41-0, 33 KOs) wasn’t interested in battling Alimkhanuly, either. Butler is ranked sixth among the WBO’s middleweight contenders.
Montreal’s Butler (32-3-1, 26 KOs) has won four fights in a row since Mexican underdog Jose de Jesus Macias (28-11-4, 14 KOs, 7 KOs) surprisingly stopped him in the fifth round of their January 2021 bout in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
The 29-year-old Alimkhanuly, who is promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc., will still be heavily favored in a fourth consecutive contest.
The Oxnard, California resident had a tougher time than expected during his most recent fight against England’s Denzel Bentley, though. London’s Bentley (17-2-1, 14 KOs) withstood Alimkhanuly’s early onslaught to make their 12-round, 160-pound championship match competitive November 12 in Las Vegas.
Alimkhanuly still won on all three scorecards – 118-110, 116-112 and 116-112 – at Palms Casino Resort’s Pearl Concert Theater. He knocked out another British underdog, Danny Dignum (14-1-1, 8 KOs), in the second round of his prior appearance, which took place last May 21 at Resorts World Las Vegas, to win the WBO interim middleweight title.
The WBO removed the interim tag from Alimkhanuly’s championship when WBO middleweight champ Demetrius Andrade gave up his belt to move up to the 168-pound division.
