i think largely because he was avoided..sometimes it goes hand in hand..the canelo fight was going to be his big PPV fight...it could have changed his fortunes to A side PPV draw if he beat Canelo...fate is so cruel :francis:

wasn't the pavlik fight supposed to be PPV too before pavlik chickened out?

Williams wasn't beating Canelo,

let's be real

They tried to make that fight Cotto's team said he wasnt ready

Plus Cotto was better physically at 154 anyway. 147 he had chin/and even moreso bodyshot problems making that weight. He would have been massacred.

Yeah I hate that people like to pretend that Mayweather also didn't get older between 2007 and 2012.

Mayweather wins that fight much easier at 147 in 2007 vs 154 in 2012.

Floyd was actually sick during the Cotto fight too.

He literally had a cold. If you watched the build up to that fight, he had tissues in his nose during the week of the fight.

100% agree, whenever you try way too hard to duck opponents, it ALWAYS comes back to bite you. Tim Tszyu literally cherry-picked Thurman who was inactive for his fight in Las Vegas after Turki already wanted to make a fight with him and Bud. Him ducking, was followed by Keith pulling out for injury, a replacement with a completely different type of opponent in Fundora, a head cut, a loss, and another loss to Murdazaliev

All he could have done was just fight Bud and call it a day. No one, and I mean no one would bat an eye to you losing to Bud, they just want to see you put up a good fight. After that loss, we would have bounced back and still been contending for titles. Same thing with Tank. Spent all those years taking the easy route with Barrios and Rolly, ended up in a cherry pick gone wrong situation with Lamont Roach, and now he's in shambles

After hearing that the Tank-Jake Paul fight was real, I don't even look at Tank the same anymore. He's clearly at the end and just chasing money. He doesn't care about legacy or taking tough fights at all.
