This is exactly why I wouldn’t want to be a promoter.

You invest your time in building these guys up, and when they finally reach their apex from a popularity standpoint, they want to leave and do their own thing or explore different options. You pretty much miss out their highest earning years. This is why there’s always some bitterness between a fighter and their ex-promoter.

Of course there are exceptions. AJ seems to have a good thing with Hearn.

On the flip side, if I’m a manager, of course I would want my fighters to move like Canelo or Haney, who fulfill their contracts and move on.
In this case ryan and Oscar aren't seeing eye to eye anymore...they both shyt on each other publicly...its crazy that Oscar has to be a co promoter for 2 extra fights after one more as a primary promoter before Ryan is legally free from GB

Could be wrong, but I think the beef started when Ryan claimed "Oscar didn't have his back" after he lost to Tank Davis
Well Ryan shouldn't have signed off to take the fight with those weird weight/rehydration clauses anyway lol

Amazing how shyt went wrong..Joyce taught Dubois real lessons..not to talk shyt about someone's disabled mother and you can do a lot of damage to someone with a jab

Joyce's decline makes me sad :francis:

Has more wins over champs than Wilder though @Tyrantus :umad:

Not a fan at all. But I thank Tyson Fury for beating Klitschko and ending the most boring era of Heavyweight Boxing (2005 to 2015) with this win

It opened the floodgates for other new Heavyweights to come on the scene

However, I still think Klitschko would have beaten Tyson Fury in a rematch, which is why Tyson ducked the rematch :yeshrug:

This is bullshyt.

It's documented that they already tried to fight Boots, he curved them with the 152 nonsense. Hearn doesn't want to risk Boots losing to Haney.

Also why are you acting like everyone knew Ryan was going to cheat and take PEDs? You know damn well what would have happened if they backed out at the 11th hour, they'd never live it down.

No one knew he'd use PEDs but coming in 3 pounds over weight is a huge advantage.

I'll put it to you this way, Floyd Mayweather and Leonard Ellerbe would have never let that happen.

shyt, they came in overweight against Marquez and paid a fine.

They already had a replacment ready for Ryan because of his antics during the whole build up to the fight. Had they replaced him, no one would have killed him for it because it appeared that Ryan was spiraling out of control.

I wasn't aware of the Boots situation, thanks for clearing that up.

Underrated win, Beltran had power in both hands. And he should have won the scorecards against Ricky Burns, but instead got a "draw" smh

I always think back. Man, if HBO Boxing didn't close down, Crawford would have been a bigger star earlier in his career. Same way HBO made GGG a star
