The thing is Spence is light years better than Tim, so this is more so to your point more of a is Errol really finished fight. Post accident spence beat better fighters than Tim. So the question is the ring rust and punch resistance from the Bud fight in addition to the damage from prior we saw signs of but some what looked past since he beat Danny amd Ugas
Tsyzu has beaten nobody, and I mean nobody, his best wins are Tony Harrison (who was nice af 6-7 years ago), and Carlos fukking Ocampo and Mendoza, these are all already rans, battlers or lifetime jobbers. I’m not even going to begin to discuss his domestic career, which I’ve followed locally, (even attended some amateur fights in his short am career).
That being said, Tsyzu has been rejuvenated, (at least in a conditioning sense), under Diaz. The fight will be a workrate battle (as is always the case in Spence bouts), but both these fighters have a high punch output, Spence the highest of any welterweight in history. Tsyzu got comprehensively out worked by another high punch output fighter in Fundora, twice, Fundora was sold short by the cut narrative, he did his thing just as well in the first bout.Time will tell whether or not he can hang with another fighter that pits his workrate over yours.
That’s the beauty of Errol Spence (pause), in his prime, on a good day (which were many), he’s the modern archetype of a throwback, working man’s fighter. Nothing all that pretty stylistically, just a tight guard, and tremendous level of conditioning, and a level of determination that says ‘I’m going to outwork you so bad that you wish you hadn’t got in this ring.’ He proved that a gas tank, solid fundamentals, and above all, a bezerk willingness to win can still make you the welterweight champion of the world. If that doesn’t motivate you to want to box, then I don’t know what to say.
Percentages suggest Spence is done, but I’ll be hoping he’s still got it. He doesn’t do tune ups, which is admirable, but the flight to Australia is 20+ hrs fwiw. Errol always liked a challenge, let’s hope he can use the fuel of a back against the wall to pull off the comeback.
Whoever loses this fight adds a few more cubic centimetres of CTE grey matter to the dome. This should be the fights catch cry/slogan. The grey matter battle.
