I know John Ruiz was underrated and didn't get the respect he deserved.... But seeing Holyfield going life and death with John fukking Ruiz was heartbreaking

i almost talked myself outta the p*ssy badmouthing john ruiz in front of a chick i was talking to years ago..not knowing he was a friend of the family :dead:

but fukk john ruiz :hhh:...he lost his belts to 2 former middleweight champions

i hated the holyfield-ruiz trilogy..it hurt my heart watching that shyt

Breh it's amazing Holyfield still has his mental capabilities in order in the present day.... from all the unnecessary fights he took after he faced Lennox Lewis post 1999

I’m not sure I got the stomach to watch this :mjcry:

I feel that but I think it's worth it. It's a reminder of what these fighters go through and how dark the sport really is.

Also had no idea about Nigel benn "collapsing" after the fight. Apparently in the UK they have a rule where if you don't make it to the locker room after the fight you don't have to take a post fight drug test. And she said Nigel's agent told her point blank that he was on steroids that night. Prolly out of guilt. Then fast forward 30 years later his son tests positive for ped's. Whole family full of scumbags. Nigel knew he couldn't beat Gerald in a fair fight.

Ultimately however, when you put it all together, the blame lies on McClellan's manager (who is not mentioned in any of this, bizarrely), trainer somewhat, and I hate to say it, Mclellan himself.

I'm saying this from the perspective of someone that hates Nigel Benn and Conor Benn even more so.

I'll give you a what if scenario. What if Tim Tsyzu went into a coma after the Bakram fight? Which tbh was a terrifying fight to witness from a health perspective. Who is at blame there? The manager? The trainer? Tim Tsyzu himself, who clearly wanted the fight, and was over confident in a myriad of ways?

It's hard to definitively place one factor, you see where I'm going with this surely?
