If I don't cut a certain amount of weight for a fight and just fight at natural weight would that mean I'd be at a disadvantage and get dominated by heavier nikkas (pause)?

Not really, you gettin dominated would depnd on your style & tactics as a fighter. As long as your not takin too many clean shots or gettin tied up all the time, thus wasting energy, there isnt no real disadvantage. Also it depends on how much weight and time the heavier fighter has had to cut beforehand. If they try and cut too much weight too quickly in a short space of time (days before the fight) or fukk the process up they more likely to fatigue alot quicker as the fights goes on

That's good news. Cutting weight is  status for me.

Yahoo's list of potentials for floyd, the writer says andre ward is who he should fight :birdman:
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/boxin...531370.html;_ylt=ApX1qqjcstgV1xWgtIWDqHqUxLYF

Andre Ward, super middleweight: Ward is an Olympic gold medalist who is quickly rising up the professional pound-for-pound ranks. I think this is the man Mayweather should fight if he can't make a match with Pacquiao. Ward is considerably bigger, and so it would be a risk, and that risk would mean that a lot of people would tune in. Could Mayweather handle an unbeaten gold medalist who is that much bigger? The Mayweather haters would buy because they'd think he'd be in big trouble against such a big man. His supporters would rightly argue that a win would help cement his place in history and move up way up on the all-time rankings. Floyd would have to agree to give up a lot of weight, but Ward could probably cut to 162 in order to make the big payday.
Pros: Great talent, charismatic personality, gold medalist, squeaky clean image to play the good guy role versus Mayweather's bad guy role.
Cons: Too big, not well-known enough.
Odds of landing the fight: 50-1, though I think if Mayweather is smart, this is his play.

IBF and WBA junior welterweight titleholder Lamont Peterson has tested positive for a banned substance, which jeopardizes his May 19 rematch against Amir Khan.

Peterson (30-1-1, 15 knockouts) and Khan (26-2, 18 KOs) contractually agreed to be randomly drug tested for blood and urine for their return bout by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) in advance of their HBO-televised clash.

Peterson's publicist, Andre Johnson, issued a statement to RingTV.com on behalf of the fighter and his manager, Barry Hunter, on Monday evening acknowledging the positive test but would not specify what the substance was.

This is the statement:

"We have tremendous respect for VADA and its mission. Lamont, Barry and the entire team emphatically support random drug testing in the most comprehensive manner possible. We are working expeditiously with a team of pathologists and other medical specialists to confirm the origin of the test result and in full compliance with the rules of the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

"Lamont has never had a positive test either before or after this isolated occurrence, and we plan to submit medical findings by close of business Tuesday reflecting the actual facts in support of Lamont's good faith intentions and the requirements of the commission."

RingTV.com was unable to reach VADA founder and President Margaret Goodman, the Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who handles Khan, for comment.

A new operation, VADA debuted its testing with this past Saturday's WBC junior middleweight title bout involving Saul Alvarez, who successfully defended his belt by a unanimous decision over former champ Sugar Shane Mosley.

Peterson took the belts from Khan by a split decision in December in Peterson's native Washington, D.C.

lotta hype about this kid...how good yall think hes really going to be?

I know I'm super late but.....I wasn't impressed by that kid. He's half Mosley's age and Mosley hung right there with him til the end. At his age, he should have been able to dominate Shane and really make him look :flabbynsick: But Shane held his own in there (even tho I do agree this should be his last fight). That kid looked as tired as Shane by the end, and he's half his age.

alvarez's stamina is a joke for a pro boxer..he was conservative with his punch output because he didnt want to gas early...this will come into play very soon if he faces a live body at 154 like kirkland or even paul williams
