I’ve always said on here that elite boxers moving up in weight is a cheat code. They may be at a size disadvantage, but they have such a significant advantage in skill and handspeed, that it overwhelms bigger guys. A lot of the times, these fights are lopsided. Bigger guys just aren’t equipped to deal with it.

The handspeed is amplified against bigger and slower guys. You’re seeing it all across boxing right now

Usyk at heavyweight
Benazvidez at CW (although I need to see more)
Bud beating Canelo
Canelo taking over 168
Stevenson
Haney beating that slow ass ww in his last fight

It kills me that some of yall believe Jermell could have beat Canelo when he doesn’t have that type of skill or speed, which is why he wants to stay his slow ass at 154.

Usyk - Trains harder than any heavyweights, 400 amateur career pedigree, in the 12th round he has the v02 capacity of their 6th round. Doped to get above 100kg/220 pounds.
Bud - Trains harder and smarter than any opponents, elite talent, had a year to prepare, doped to get to the weight, Canelo had a short prep and is on the decline. Hard truth, but the truth, not hating. Fight was designed by DAZN/Saudi/Alishikh/Ring to dismantle WBC's strength, hence the big payday for Canelo.
Canelo - Took over 168 with steroids and an intimidating power punch style, smart boxer obviously, elite talent, not just a puncher. Avoided bigger opponents, Kovalev had exactly 8 weeks post last fight to prepare, and had serious rehydration clauses, lost to the other big guy, Bivol. Smith maybe his most impressive win.
Stevenson - The best proprioception since Floyd Mayweather, takes time to fill into each weight class.
Haney - Smart fighter, exploited Normans shortcomings.

Explain how the Crawford fight was to dismantle the WBC?

The biggest draw in boxing is Canelo Alvarez. The biggest sanctioning body is the WBC.

Without Canelo, their bargaining power in larger prize fights is severely compromised, hence their influence and hold over larger purse fights has been, and is, is far less relevant.

In many ways, Canelo was almost rendered to the B side in the Crawford v Canelo fight.

The Ring belt was also forced upon the fighters, press runs with the belt, stipulations of no WBC belt presentation in conferences etc.
