I think he is referring to the fact that the rumor is that the first pair Maidana presented (white gloves) were denied by Mayweather and the commission agreed to deny the white gloves. They opened the second pair and the commission approved those, which was a red pair of gloves.
Maidana ended up fighting in a black pair of gloves. The rumor was that Mayweather paid Maidana to wear the black gloves behind the scenes, which were of his choosing.
(someone did ask Dan Rafael about this in a chat and he said he heard the rumors and that there was something behind them in that Mayweather-Maidana negotiated a settlement for Maidana to wear "Mayweather" approved gloves)
From Dan's chat wrap it appears that the white gloves were Maidan's personal gloves, the red gloves were Everlast stock MX, and the black gloves were Everlast - but not the MX.

Nobody would say but I would be very surprised if he just changed to be a good guy. Clearly a deal was made based on what both sides said. I would imagine he received financial considerations. Otherwise why change? The commission had already OK'd the MX gloves and therefore it would have been on Floyd to call off the fight.
then again BHop is my favorite fighter so you already know how I feel about dirty tactics.
