it was done to create parity in the lower divisions...if you have a wide range of weight within each division you'll liable to create some vicious mismatches that could be a detriment tor some fighters

good go back to that. I woulda never seen that bum broner on my screen or knew he existed.

I agree:salute:

I BEEN said that the weight classes should go back to the old days aka the Traditional Eight Divisions:

Heavyweight: Unlimited

Light Heavyweight: 175lbs

Middleweight: 160

Welterweight: 147

Lightweight: 135

Featherweight: 126

Bantamweight: 118

Flyweight: 112:

If there was ever a boxing commission, I would hope they would go back to it:ohlawd:

:whew:

lol @ cruiserweight. Its funny how no one gives a shyt about it when it falls in the weight most people are :beli:

Well then they shouldnt be fighting in that class:manny:

No one can tell me that Canelo Alvarez isnt a Middleweight:heh: Hell, EVERY JMW (except Floyd) rehydrates up to a SMW by fight night....and in some cases a LHWY.

The older fighters did it with no strength and conditioning coaches, with todays advancement in training and workout regimens, they could do it

Broner would still be at 135 then and Maidana wouldnt have been given the chance to have 5 minutes of fame:umad:

Also, I find it funny that we have all these Super and Light divisions for the smaller fighters, but if you weigh 200+.......oh well:rudy:

Valuev vs Haye......Valuev weighed in at 316lbs standing 7'0 to David Hayes 217lbs standing 6'3. Haye could've been KILLED in the ring being outweighed by 100lbs but the Heavyweights dont get this protection like the smaller fighters, even though they took the hardest punches of all:mindblown:

Haye won though and took the belt. If he can beat a man who outweighs him by 100lbs, I dont care about someone being outweighed by 10-12 lbs:camby:

Maidana just beat the GOAT and you're still in denial. :laff:

Think about all the nikkas at 135 with him, he'd have been dunzo at 15 fights :laff:

Youre mad your favorite fighter is the equivalent of hodor upstairs :bryan:

id call him an ape, but this:

Im in denial, but you're saying Maidana beat Floyd?:patrice:

There arent any fighters that are 135 and less that can beat AB at 135. There's a reason nobody was in a rush to fight him even though he was calling them out left and right:sas1:

Let's not forget, he called out the Ricky Burns for a full year, chasing him, but Burns wouldnt commit to the fight AND he demolished the #1 135 Ring Champ in about 6 rounds.....Antonio DeMarco:sas2:

Them nikkas down there are too little for AB, they should ALL be lucky he moved up out of the division, because if we come back everybody gonna get that work:ufdup:

Those 7 pounds make a world of difference breh. I was playing my Japanese version of Victorious Boxers 2 and the career mode. I'm a junior welter. I am having trouble growing my attributes at keeping my weight at 139.5 for the weigh-ins so when it came time to make another fight, I fought at 147 because I had simply outgrown the weight. Bad move. I came into the fight 143 and I gained that weight all kinds of wrong ways while I fought a dude that was a solid 147. I was fat and bloated, my fatigue was fukked. My opponent had me by virtually every metric. Height, weight, arm length and the result? 2nd round ko. He put me on my ass twice in the first round and I didn't make it back up in the second. I was blasting through nikkas at 140. That seven pound move introduced me to a life that I wasn't bout last night. I lost my zero breh :to:

You lost your 0 but you stepped up like a champ

Hearn Sets Talks With Arum For Froch-Chavez in Vegas

By Edward Chaykovsky

Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport is targeting late November or December to stage a Las Vegas event featuring the return of IBF/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch. After drawing 80,000 fans to Wembley Stadium for his rematch with George Groves, Froch's dream is to headline a big card in Las Vegas.

The three options for Froch are Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Mikkel Kessler and James DeGale. Chavez Jr. is the only opponent capable of headlining against Froch in Vegas.

Hearn told Daily Mail: "There are three realistic options – Mikkel Kessler III, James DeGale and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. I don’t think Carl is in any rush to fight again and I don’t think in his mind he is 100 percent about coming back. It is all about the opportunity. The fight in Vegas is what he really wants to do. If the right offer doesn’t come up then I am quite confident he will hang up his gloves."

"All three are good opportunities and it will come down to the specifics but Vegas really is the big draw for Carl. It’s what he wants. Right now I am going over the options and have already spoken to DeGale and plan to talk to Bob Arum (Chavez’s promoter) on Tuesday night. We will start talks and see what can be done and what is possible. I would like to look at the end of November or December in Vegas."

december? :dead:
