Gamboa Confirms Weight Drop To 126, 130-Pounds

A few days ago, attorney Tony Gonzalez, who advises former champion Yuriokris Gamboa (23-1, 16KOs), said he preferred to see his fighter continue his career in a lower weight division - at featherweight or super featherweight.

Gamboa, an Olympic gold medal winner, was undersized and outgunned when he moved up to 135-pounds to challenge WBO lightweight champion Terence Crawford on June 28th. After doing very well in the first round rounds, Crawford eventually broke Gamboa down and dropped him four times before a ninth round stoppage.

It was Gamboa's second fight at 135, but the talented Cuban agrees with his adviser, and the fans, and plans to return to 130 or 126 in his next fight.

"By popular demand... 126-130 here I go," Gamboa stated on the social networks.

At 126 and 130, there is no shortage of recognizable fighters for Gamboa to face - like Vasyl Lomachenko, Nonito Donaire, Mikey Garcia, Juan Manuel Lopez, Nicholas Walters and Evgeny Gradovich
