Watched the fight today, was interested to see what I saw since opinions are all over the place.

Personally I came away with two things:
1. Lara did absolutely nothing in this fight and was not effective at all.
2. Canelo landed the better shots, but he still has trouble with fighters with movement boxing skills.

I wouldn't say Lara ran because his style was definitely to move and keep Canelo off balance. He did a great job at this. Problem is, to score winning rounds you still have to be more effective offensively. Lara did nothing offensively to me. His movement was good, but it never set up offensive advantages.
Canelo on the other hand struggles with fighters who move. This is something he will always struggle with IMO. I agree in that he didn't improve much compared to Floyd, it is just that where Floyd offensively took advantage, Lara did nothing with his movement to gain an advantage over Canelo.

Canelo landed the cleaner, harder shots and controlled the fight due to this. It was ugly, both fighters showed weaknesses.
I scored it 116-112 Canelo.
