- Doesn't think Algieri is much of a threat for Pacquiao. Because of the cold war, Pacquiao is basically out of new opponents.
Algieri will run for 12 rounds and I am betting that he gets the victory if Pac isn't able to stop him. Arum has been sucking Algieri's dikk too hard for me not to think that Bob is up to shenanigans.
- Hopkins future depends on what happens with Duva's lawsuit. B-Hop will be allowed to fight either Kovalev or Stevenson by the IBF, because it is a unification, but if the lawsuit prevents him from making a deal he will be forced to fight his mandatory.
- Hopkins is not in talks to fight Kovalev yet. Basically Hopkins says he is open to fight either Stevenson or Kovalev, whichever can get made. HBO has pre-approved Hopkins to be on their network, despite being a GB fighter in part of Kovalev's contract with them.
Hopefully one or both of these fights get made ASAP...BHop aint getting no younger.
- No Canelo-Lara PPV numbers yet.
Wouldn't expect great numbers. That fight was ass and Lara completely screwed his own career trajectory by how he chose to fight.
- Wilder-Stiverne probably going to happen in Nov/Dec.
I heard that Stiverne hurt his hand in training and that the fight could get postponed.
- Chances of Canelo-Kirkland - decent.
I hope this fight gets made. It would get Kirkland a big payday and be a guaranteed action fight.
- Herrera-Garcia rematch? Don't hold your breath.
I don't see Danny ever even mentioning Herrera's name again.
- Didn't think much of the Mayweather article in terms of breaking news. He believes himself and his colleagues have always covered Mayweather's legal and personal issues.
- Agreed that detailing Mayweather's personal issues was fine, but the attack on the boxing media was false and agenda driven.
Nothing in that Deadspin article was a lie though despite the motivations behind it. Floyd beats women up...its documented fact. And the majority of boxing media tend to downplay it because they want to maintain access to Floyd and even the appearance of criticizing him makes him get all c*nty and he would stop granting access to people like Dan.
- He has told RJJ in person he wishes he would retire.
I wish Roy would listen but I am not holding out hope.
- Cotto-Canelo negotiations haven't started, but there will be plenty to negotiate. ODH and Arum have agreed to work together, but they haven't agreed on network rights. Arum would want the fight to be on HBO, DLH Showtime.
I can see the two networks doing a deal similar to the Lewis/Tyson PPV because they will see that Cotto/Canelo is a big enough moneymaker.
- Over under Pac-Algieri 375k buys: Under.
I don't want to watch that shyt for free let alone on a PPV.
