I agree but let's not act like Donaire is exciting. That nikka fights are boring BUT his has is on HBO.
I agree that Donaire isn't very exciting. It really depends on who they match him up with. He needs the right dance partner.

However, the reason he has the backing of HBO has more to do with his nationality than fighting style. He's Filipino, making it easier to push him considering their cash cow is also Filipino. So it's easy to plug him in and push him as "the next Pacquiao". No different than what Showtime has done/was doing with Adrien Broner

I wouldn't mind a ggg fight:shaq:
I wouldn't mind, but I wouldn't be that excited for it. That ship has sailed.

1) I doubt Sergio will even look GGG's way.

2) It's not in GGG's best interest to fight Sergio anymore anyway. When he was the lineal MW champ yeah. But now that he lost to Cotto, a won over Sergio does nothing for Golovkin. You know damn well nikkas gonna discrediting him, talking bout "well Sergio was a washed up cripple". Makes little sense these days for a Maravilla/GGG fight

zou looked great against a game fighter, showed all the style of freddie roach fighter, quick crisp combos, angles and movement with meh defense. Got tagged clean a few times with hooks and straights but didnt get dropped and showed great stamina.

Not Top Rank's fault nobody gives a fukk about Rigo. Did they ask the fans to file out during his fight with Agbeko? Was there a graphic flashing across the screen telling people to tune out?
Cause it was the lowest rated main event in the history of BAD.
Yes it is Top Rank's fault. They promote him. They're supposed to sell his image in and out of the ring in order to make themselves money. They have to build his profile. No one gives a shyt about Agbeko. Why give him that sorry ass fight after dominating Donaire?

If HBO is hating, Top Rank is supposed to keep that on the low and fight HBO every step of the way to get him big fights on HBO cards. If they want more exciting fights, pair him against pressure fighters that won't step off the gas, have him move up in weight, or give him more popular names. Rigo dominated a top P4P fighter and got treated like he lost.

Rigo is a top 5 P4P fighter. There has to be a place for him on HBO. It's not the fighter's job to sell the fight, especially not when he's displaying top notch skill and dominance in the ring.

Floyd is the perfect test case. Watch Floyd's old fights. Merchant was killing him for not being exciting. Floyd didn't become a wild slugger in order to gain popularity. He just fought bigger names and dominated top competition. Now a defensive tactician is the biggest name in the sport. People like KO artists, not great defensive fighters. But people became fans of his style because of his greatness.

Rigo can do the same and be the same if they give him support and competition. They just want to throw shade his way because they like to see average fighters get concussed into brain damage(Rios).

:pacspit: Arum for throwing Rigo under the bus instead of doing his job. Schaefer would've been calling Rigo the new and improved Floyd Mayweather or some other blasphemous shyt that would have people's heads turning.

Nobody is a fan of Floyd's style aside for diehard boxing fans which Rigo already has won over...

Floyd's mouth and antics sell his fights...The casual finds Floyd's style as boring as Rigo's but Floyd has the "swag" and "flash" that grabs headlines...Rigo doesn't have that, he is very melo, he doesn't even speak English which is also a big problem...Rigo isn't a PR fighter or a Mexican who have strong followings, Cubans don't have that kind of backing thus he can't get away with having a non fan friendly style and not speaking English...

Simply put the guy isn't marketable right now but I do agree with you that Bob has done an awful job matching Rigo with guys who will force him to use his hands more than his legs...Like you said, if you want a more exciting fight put him in the ring with a pressure fighter who will force Rigo to let his hands go more...
