I think a Floyd loss would make a Manny fight more likely. It would remove the 0 which Floyd (and his Stans) wave around like a baton beating other fighters over the head whenever a name is mentioned as a future opponent.
And just losing won't stop the casuals from hating Floyd. If he takes a loss then his first fight back would be a huge PPV event just to see if he is shot or if the loss was a fluke. And a lot of the hate for Floyd is his attitude which I doubt he'd change. His persona is one of a cocky, ghetto ass black dude with an immense amount of money and even more ego...that is something CACs will always hate with a passion.

Also unless Espinoza changes his attitude or gets fired, I don't see Showtime ending the beef.
However Oscar seems perfectly fine with working with HBO and if GBP's contract is not totally exclusive to Showtime then I see him promoting more shows with HBO moving forward.
wins or losses have nothing to do with a pacquaio fight being made or not
both sides had been trying to make the fight up until floyd went to prison
both Sides are to blame and a floyd loss isnt gonna change that
if anything, it would make the interest for it less appealing because a large amount of people wanted to see if pacquaio was the one who could give floyd his first loss
a huge amount of the casuals tune in to watch floyd lose. i've talked to girls that dont no shyt about boxing besides mike tyson and they hate floyds guts. it isnt so much the cockyness, as it is the perfection. ali was very hated before he took his first loss as well. people (especially white folks to black) want to see a flaw. they are all gone when he takes a l. Not that i care, cause im watching regardless, but nothing positive can come from it from a mainstream standpoint unless your a floyd hater.

and i dont think floyds gonna be messin with oscar for that much longer but who knows

Dan Rafael followed up his chat with two blog posts:

- GGG's next fight will most likely be between Rubio or Vera (if he wins Saturday).
- Stevenson won't have a fight date until October of November because Hopkins signed a fight with Kovalev (also negating any bums Haymon would've lined Stevenson up with if Hopkins was stripped) and Stevenson's management wouldn't agree to 50/50 with Pascal.

Wonder how many threads will be made about this woman beating fakkit not getting a fight anytime soon. :sas1:

listening to a BBC podcast with Malignaggi and Bunce, Paulie said he was close to being put into a coma? A doctor told him this, I'd very much like to see if there's an article out there that states this or if it's Paulie exaggerating as of course he brings up the Porter drug testing thing for a good 5 minutes and how Brook has to be careful.

he didn't know how to fight my fellow nigerian bredren Ike either..remember he's the only one that ko'ed a prime byrd

Byrd fans try to forget about that fight :snoop:

To his credit it was competitive before the KO. Ike was big but I wouldn't consider him Lewis big (height wise)although he was more muscular. I think Byrd went into that fight with a bruised/broken rib if I recall correctly.

Damn shame what could have been with the president. :why:

Wladimir Klitschko
Mired in Lawsuit
Over Injured Boxer

8/15/2014 8:17 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE
0815-waldimir-magomed-tmz-getty-2.jpg

Heavyweight boxing champ Wladimir Klitschko is in the middle of a bizarre legal fight ... involving a boxer he signed who suffered massive injuries during a recent bout.

Magomed Abdusalamov -- a boxer who was signed by Klitschko's company, K2 Boxing Promotions -- suffered permanent brain damage in a November, 2013 bout at Madison Square Garden.

The fight went the full 10 rounds and there was no question ... Mike Perez won. In fact, he beat Abdusalamov so badly, he ended up having brain surgery and suffered a series of strokes. He may never walk or talk again.

Abdusalamov's wife has sued Klitschko's company ... claiming the champ and his people should have stopped the fight when it was clear her husband was badly injured. She also claims there was a delay in getting him medical attention.

Klitschko's company has put a claim in to his insurance company ... to cover any judgment in the lawsuit, but the insurance company has now asked a judge to declare the policy ONLY covers injuries like sickness, disease or death outside the ring that would cause cancellation of the fight.

The insurance company says there's a specific exclusion from injuries resulting from the fight itself.

A judge has yet to rule.

I think its to the point now where may/pac will retire facing each other if they do fight. They will be each other's last opponent (although i could see either fighter coming back if they run into money problems). They will continue making their money against other fighters & when both fighters are ready, they'll do it. They should make a 2 fight deal
