What state you in? Don’t be in Texas or Florida.

Edit just go through a local credit union. A lot of them have programs that once you complete you qualify for down payment assistance through state/city agencies.

California.

My bank is a credit union but From what I heard they have higher interest rates then other banks around here, it’s just what I heard, not 100% sure.

You need to see what type of loans they offer, based on your post you will get fha(va if been in the army etc ). If your bank offers these government loans then they dont determine the rates, fha does.

Also what type of area are you moving to and have you ever served in the military

Fresno, maybe Clovis.

No military.

I was always confused with the fha loan, so the loan is still coming from the bank?

Does the fha place determine how much I qualify for?

I have no idea how fha loan works.

There are different types of loans. I suggest you go through a program first before buying a home.

Types of Home Loans: FHA, VA, USDA …OMG! |

Talk to a realtor to give you an idea of what your going to be spending too. Just remember area and property, you want to be able to sell your house for more than what you paid in 5 years.
