I don't think so at all after this....Cotto's stiff jab is going to pose serious problems for Canelo plus he cuts off the ring well...nothing in this fight outside of Canelo's size and youth should concern Cotto...plus Cotto could slow down Canelo something serious with a body shot...if he's smart he comes in at 154-155 and digs into him.
And using the Trout fight is silly IMO....Trout is a tall lanky pure boxer that could beat Cotto 9 times outta 10 based on pure physics and style....Canelo fights nothing like him...Canelo is like a Fernando Vargas with a better chin but less KO power and more head movement.
A year ago I thought Canelo steamrolls Cotto but I think Cotto beats him....prolly fairly easily at this point..

IMO Canelo's best move is to fight some gatekeeper/fringe contender at middleweight, and then Cotto
Fight was horrible and definitely shouldn't of been on PPV. To me Lara didn't do enough to win; you have to take it to the popular guys. If you do even in a loss you can get a rematch. Lara definitely won't get a rematch no time soon with that performance he showed tonight.
yeah i applaud dude for taking top competition and he's GOOD but that's about it Lara just didn't come to win point blank...as boring as he is I could see Carlos Molina giving Canelo FITS.

Low key that Molina fight was where I knew Lara would take the L tonight and you and me were the only ones to bring that fight up since this was announced. Could it be that Lara stans weren't watching him back then?

not keeping it real with him or he was being too self-confident in his abilities and not being a well-rounded fighter..I wouldn't fight Molina no matter what @ 154 if I'm a money making fighter.
And honestly if they don't make Cotto/Canelo for middleweight I'd love to see Keith Thurman move up and fight Canelo ( he fought Quintana at 154 and I don't think he has an opponent)....I'd be interested if Canelo could take his power shots...even though Thurman might be a bit small it'd be fireworks.
