There's still a few spots uptown but not much. Ink & Ivy, French Quarter spots, the spots lining 5th Street, & the black spots near Caldwell & 6th/7th if they count as uptown Tatoos & Booze & 321. But I agree, I mostly go out in Southend and it's the first place I recommend folk from out of town to go. RIP Epicentre.

Speaking of Uptown being dead... Seems like a werid move since they already have the Red Eye Diner in the Epicentre I belive.


A free event at Gantt tomorrow. Braxton Winston will be there along with Charlotte's Poet Laureate. I went to the 'Let the Laureate Tell It' show where they announced him but had to bail, would be cool to see him perform.

The way that area is being built up, it looked out of place now and I’m sure the rent is rising. Same thing happened Prices Chicken.

I moved here from Baltimore a month ago, and I like it. I don't trust the Crab Cakes here, but the city is safer, cleaner and more modern than Baltimore. Charlotte is also more diverse than I would have thought. Nice basketball courts too since I like to hoop.
