The portal is good to fix specific areas but you build a roster via recruiting. The top schools perennially are built via consistent recruiting classes not just portal transfers

It’s still true today. Yes players can leave and play immediately which wasn’t true 5 years ago but how these rosters are constructed to win is built off of recruiting and days like today. Thats part of what kinda bit Deion in the ass last year was thinkin he could just transfer all the guys there when the reality is that it takes 2-3 recruiting cycles PLUS transfers to have a quality roster
