@OSUBaneBrowns the only undesirable thing about this is that it's 1:9 twist, but goddamn is it a deal :whoo:

do they only index primary arms? gun.deals and wikiarms seem strictly better then...
Idk I haven't used that one. There's one I have bookmarked. And for some reason my bookmarks aren't loading on my phone, I'll eventually find it. But it's the same deal, it lists all the components and you can choose one from a multitude of suppliers and it gives you a running total on your build and you can chip away and buy them one by one or whatever.

It's a different site, I just typed in ar builder and found that one.

Just finished building my lower for my AR15. It wasn't hard at all but it something that I can't see myself doing a lot. Almost lost the detents and springs a few times trying to install them. I'm seriously debating on buying a full upper or just buying the barrel and BCG separately depending on what would be the better option.

Don't be a quitter. Also, do you really have all the proper tools for gunsmithing. A well built firearm can be a lifelong possession. Consider investing in a gunsmith's vice. And there are a lot of other tools that makes things like installing detents, etc. much simpler.

To be honest, it was nice to learn about building a AR but it not something that I can see myself doing for fun long term. I have some tools that I brought (vice, AR block, pin set) that helped the process but I was just relieve that I was able to get the lower built on my own. When I looks at upper parts, I could easily see myself spending more $$$ than I want to than just buying a complete one outright. This is just going to be a range/backup HD gun. God forbid if something would happen and if I had to have it confiscated, I would be more pissed losing a expensive weapon than something that was more cheap and I can easily replaced w/o hesitation. I have no issues with buying a better quality BCG or barrel but I don't really care about the rest of the upper.

Thinking about buying a Glock 19 for a 2nd line of home defense and to shoot cheap 9mm ammo. I really want the Prodigy but it's not on CA roster. I finally shot a 1911 style gun in 45 acp last weekend and I was surprise how smooth it was (SA TRP Operator). Buy the Glock for now and save for the Operator or something similar for later on :myman:
