Yeah I think imma slow down because I got a lot of traveling to do this summer
I started collecting vinyl y'all! Got everything from ScHoolboy Q to Little Simz to Nirvana to Clairo. Also recently got an Audio-Technica LP60x with Samson speakers so I have been bumping the tf out of it

these vinyl stores are getting crazy. Charging $35-40 for shyt like Salt n Pepa's Very Necessary. shyt is crazy. Back in the day, I used to go to flea markets and stores and Thriller albums were $1. They couldn't even get rid of them fast enough. Now they want $25 for a fukkin Thriller album. GTFOH!!!!

I got Thriller for like 8 bucks and seen it cheaper. Antique shops will get you right, them record stores be taxing

I have so many copies of thriller dating back to over 20 years ago getting them for $1, I basically just give them away to family members and friends. I definitely don't need any more copies of that. Vinyl shops are out of control on pricing of everything today.

They are and it sucks. Allied in Toledo is somewhat reasonable but for the most part they be taxing. And don't let it be a record store in a small town
I’ve bought 3 copies of Thriller in the past couple of years. I paid $10 for one with a slight warp, and $5 each for the other 2. One sounded great but the other had some surface noise. I gave them to my sisters.
It’s one of the most pressed albums of all time. There’s no shortage of copies; and no reason for shops to be charging crazy prices.
On a side note, Thriller is probably the best sounding album I’ve ever heard. The mixing and mastering was on another level.

Called this back yrs ago, especially with hip hop albums. Charging $30 for some random Nice N Smooth white label single that even they don’t recall making. shyts crazy out here. But also depends on the shops you go to. If it’s too glossy or tries to recreate this old feeling aesthetic, you’re about to get your pockets ran. The grimy ones are where you get the deals. I copped a repressed Donny Hathaway Live album for damn near a hundred once. Went to some rinky dink shop in Flat Shoals, AL and found that same album but OG pressing for $5.

Discogs is how I do 90% of my shopping, especially since prices got stupid after Covid. I don’t fukk with ebay either except when a few sellers I like sell large lots of hip hop and there’s some deals.
