Any one been to St James on 14th or Canes on H St?
I read this post in Keith Lee's voice.![]()
Yes. Both are upscale Trini food. You're paying upscale prices too. And "down scale" food in DC is already more expensive than most folks want it to be, even before the pandemic.
St. James - better location, imo. If you're gonna make it a night out, I'd rather be by the train/on U-Street. I've only been the once, and never intend on returning. It's not bad food by any means, it's just not great. Menu | St. James
Cane - better food. I usually get the "Tiffin Box". I've also had the oxtail and pepper pot. The atmosphere (hoes, music, and lack of effery) is usually pretty good as well. Menu - Cane
I can see that building from my window lolThis not the sort of office to residential stuff that's needed

Thanks a lot I will try to check these out thanksOnly got a few recs.
Sit down? - Da Hong Pao on 14th. I usually go for Dim Sum, but they've got good Americanized Chinese.
Take out - Right next to it is Yum's 2 - if you really trying to do Mumbo Sauce and Wings, you can get it there.
Same owner. The neighborhood changed (and priced me out!), so he opened the Dim Sum place next to the corner spot.
