Crime is in certain pockets of the city, just like anywhere else. Those neighborhoods you listed are close to downtown and not far from “the hood” so you’ll be subject to crimes like theft and potentially robberies and car jackings.

The surrounding counties are better for overall quality of life, IMO. I live and have always lived in Baltimore County, not far from city, but tucked away. I’ve never had issues. However the counties are not as “exciting” in terms of nightlife.

are they more suburban? I'm looking for an urban feel, don't really need a car except for long trips vibe

If you’re not looking to have a car, the areas you mentioned are better because they are close to transportation. Again, you MAY experience some crime, but nothing no other neighborhood has...very few are crime free. Some places hire private security, so that’s something you many want to ask about.

The murders you hear about are usually in the worst neighborhood, unfortunately with varying victims or specific targets.

I lived in Ridgleys Delight for 2 yrs and left right after the riots. I didn’t think the crime was that bad. Aside from the riots and then the curfew:

- I saw a guy get shot in the head and killed around the corner from Lexington Market by the Rite.

-Was in 2 different stores that got robbed while I was shopping.

-Had the police shutdown my street looking for a fugitive. They had dogs, helicopters and the whole neighborhood shutoff. They ended up finding ole boy hiding under a car in Dover St.

And this was all before crime started going back up.

Your results might differ. Go for it.

:patrice: that is a lot of crime. I'm chill with property crime but gunplay is another story
