Anyone that lives here has been watching the build up. Mind you, this is the “quota” part of the year when MPD does their bullshyt sweeps in the streets. This time is weird tho, way more posting up on corners, way more walking the beat, shyt is just weird.
Mind you, crime in the city is nowhere as bad as it used to be. It’s certainly not a perfect place but there’s a way more insane version of DC that doesn’t even exist anymore due to gentrification. I’d argue that gentrification is one of the biggest factors that aggravates the crime rates. What would be dumb is to take away the few great resources built up over the years especially during Marion Barry’s tenure. That’s a recipe for the city to explode fr.
