Playstation 4.5 and a gang of VR stuff really.

I'm actually looking forward to the dev events. Not to mention I wanna see the FIFA reveal with the new engine and if Sony does a Red Dead remake.

There is always one or two things that surprise me though. :manny:

what i hope for the most is microsoft and sony clearing the rumors about neo and scorpio and their business plan for a faster console release cycle. seems to be confirmed that all of the leaks are true but sony and microsoft haven't touched on it yet. kind of amazing how nintendo has kept the NX under wraps compared to sony and microsoft.

i read that too...see I think 8-10 years is perfectly fine though. 5 years is too soon imo for a console....people don't buy desktops that fast. I'd be perfectly fine with a platform that allows rolling hardware upgrades. Want VR? Fine here is an upgrade + hardware for that. Oh want a SSD and 4k, here is an optional upgrade for that.

This is exactly that. An upgrade. It's not a new "console" as in something with new games and a new interface. It's literally no different than buying slim and revisions of consoles that were sold last gen. Only difference is this time they just improved the hardware so the games you play on there will have better graphics/performance. The PS5/Xbox Two or w/e are still years away which will truly be a leap in generations.

Rumor is a remaster of Skyrim...which would be useless to me...since I am on PC...

Also need to hear more about Wild...it's about the only game on horizon that is going to make me turn my PS4 on...

From everything I have heard, plus previous knowledge the performance jump is negligible. Both the PS4 and the One learned much from their previous incarnations and don't have NEARLY the same design issues that plagued those consoles. The Slim's and the sort were answers to design and hardware ISSUES not really upgrades.

It all just feels like a sad, wack dip into people's pockets. And what the quote was talking about business plans for faster console gens and release. I know this is not a new gen...but the next one shouldn't be speed up just because they can.

i prefer they speed up the console cycle and 2-3 years is fine. cell phones come out every year and ppl are still buying those. if you want innovation and a great user experience then you have to be faster with releasing the latest hardware to support what you wanna do.

and i think they have to speed it up because they need to be able to support VR and sony/microsoft doing this is a good sign for the future of VR.

you should just wait until you hear their plan before brushing it off. i'm sure neo and scorpio will have BC with PS4 and X1. a cycle that quick will be hard for developers to keep up with. if anything the hardware will support 4k and probably just upscale the game so you don't necessarily need the latest console to play.

Cell Phones = a piece of tech you literally use everyday, for multiple minutes a day literally everywhere you go.

If anything needs to speed up its the rate of firmware updates for the consoles.

And addressing the bolded....we said the same thing about PS4 and X1 and they still aren't BC truly...I make NO assumptions about these companies anymore.
