Can anyone explain to me why that has become the go-to argument by Republicans against Liberals? Where does that stem from?

These dudes really believe that Republicans = honorable, hard working citizens, and Democrats = leaches. Why?

it stems from the reality that the more liberal you are the more likely you are to support funding for social programs like welfare, food stamps, etc.

was this a rhetorical question? :usure:

obviously there's distortions from both sides (i.e. a opposite example might be Democrats always talking about how conservatives don't care about the poor)

Republicans support corporate welfare which eats up much more of the budget than foodstamps. Sounds like rich people are the leaches looking for handouts:manny:

yeah but that's about keeping businesses that support the economy afloat
it's not a social issue like welfare and food stamps

The interesting connection that people fail to see, is that food stanps and other social programs keep the economy afloat as well. Starving kids in the streets would hurt the economy. Social programs bolster jobs and opportunities. Think about how many people would be out of work if food stamps went away.

Republicans like to get on tv and demonize welfare recipients, but in reality it's those at the top who benefit the most from for stamps.

elaborate more please......:smh:

It would put California farmers at a disadvantage and the law had a bunch of exceptions, so it wasn't even complete, labeling gmo foods sounds simple but it's very complex, it's not something that should be done in a ballot

Nah I think people who receive food stamps benefit the most from them not some rich people who don't receive them but that's just me

food stamps might be a good cause but that's pretty much where it stops
