i watched fargo last night (nvr saw it before) just to get a feel for wat im walking into with this show.... it wasnt a bad movie but i was expecting a lot more than that, especially with a 8.2 imdb rating ..

I'm not sure what more you could want from it. It's about as classic as they come. If you somehow failed to see its brilliance you weren't paying attention.

It's a separate story, but in that setting. There's word going around that they might do it like an anthology, so different story/characters each season if it proves successful.
