Qatar has every right to bid for the competition just like any other nation, FIFA SHOULD have declined them, Qatar was never going to compromise their ideals, to act like they pulled a fast one is false, Fifa knew the deal and yet proceeded.

Yeah, we can be all pissed at Qatar (and we should be) but they have NEVER shirked from their ideals. And for as much as I disagree with those ideals, I can't force them to think/feel other wise.

The fault is on FIFA for thinking they had more juice than the Emir or the Quran. :russ:
I woulda NEVER paid money to go to such a place.

Qatar does not have a (moral) "right" to bid for the competition under FALSE PRETENSES I think is the point.

If they were upfront about their intentions and they were accepted, the bulk of "blame"/ire would be apportioned elsewhere at this point.

They did abandon their ideals when they hid their intentions and/or broke a contract. Insisting that they stick to their word is helping them keep their ideals.

The ultimate expression of their ideals would be to be consistent with all of their ideals at this (self inflicted) impasse but that seems to be already ruled out by you and them. Cos money and image are more important than ideals (even to the most pious it seems).

Cup's come alive - that was exactly what it needed. Argentina seriously disappointing - felt like they went into cruise at 1-0 up and Saudi just turned them over. Beautiful to see.

Poland and Mexico are gonna be getting both barrels from Messi and co now you gotta feel.
