I might need to start watching races on mute. The commentators trying to pretend like it's a sane option to tell the Championship Leader (Oscar) to let his teammate pass after the safety car was nutso shyt. They just wanted some post race drama. McLaren would NEVER give that order. The last time they were in that position Lando had a chance to catch Max in the championship.

It's a valid option if Oscar is close enough to max for lando to slingshot and challenge. Would you rather have 2 &3 or 1st and 3rd for constructor's? Plus lando is right behind Oscar in the standings so it's not like he's a bum. It wasnt a bizarre suggestion

Oscar was on dead tires and never had a chance to challenge Max on restart :manny:

:ehh: Ferrari actually was competitive today. I will tip my hat to both drivers and the team for once.

They're winning the constructor's regardless. It'd be different if Checo was still around getting consistent top 6 points or something, but no one is catching them so there's no point in offending Oscar, and his manager multi-21, by suggesting a switch.

That's just them drumming up TV drama. IF they ordered the switch and Lando didn't catch Max that's all anyone would talk about for the next two weeks until Monaco.

@calh45 this what I said. That wasn't the case so it didn't happen, so I think that's why it didn't happen.

We're also 7 races in not 15. If your slightly behind in points number 2 driver has a chance to win a race on fresher tires, that's dumb not to take the chance

Think over 1 lap he will always have that over Oscar, just need to be more consistent and stop playing Jekyll and Hyde with himself

Monaco is the one place you need to be the person with the 1 lap speed. This race is going to be a giant parade even with the forced pitstops.

If Lando beats Charles to turn 1 it's basically a guaranteed win unless he hits the wall......

Lewis getting that grid penalty means there's potential Max and Oscar potentially get into it in turn 1 because of how aggressive Max can be and being passive on the start cost Oscar last race.
