Nah, that's a Pirelli issue. Tire failure is different from tire wear. Pirelli said this strategy should work. Even if they went past the estimated life they shouldn't structurally fail.That's racing. For all we know he was just hard on his tires.
You can changes tires freely, parts if they're damaged, like-for-like if the FIA approves.

nikka I don't care. I've been watching F1 for almost two decades. Lewis literally lost a title in 2010 because of a wheel failure. The game is the game.
