I don't understand mihoyo's obsession with Keqing.
I had the same problem with Xiao. Got Keqing on his banner, never got him.

Then they did a whole Keqing banner.

Then you got Keqing on Hu Tao's banner.

It's like....get this bytch outta my face man.

The funny thing about when this happened was my 8 year old daughter was right next to me. Now, she sees the game, but doesn't know all the hijinx or anything behind character wishing, but she was like:

I still have like 7,200 primogems left over because I got Hu Tao on the very first 10 pull I had. So I'm going after Venti.

As far as Hu Tao, I was right about attack % vs HP %. At lower skill levels there's really no different between the two, but as you put levels in her elemental skill then HP % starts to pull ahead.

That shyt just happened to me last night. I was 35 pulls from pity and I had 2 random ones to use. My 2nd pull ended up being Diluc. Now I don't feel as pressed to go for Hu Tao, especially when Venti is who I truly want.

As a rule of thumb, I prefer faster characters. Polearm users suit my playstyle because they have the fastest normal attacks and flashier animations, i.e: Xiao, Zhongli and now Hu Tao. By all means, Diluc is still a very strong character, but by being a Claymore user, he's inherently slower than Polearm users, even if his normal attacks hit harder. Across all the parties I have set-up I don't think I have a single Claymore user. They feel ultra sluggish and cumbersome to me. I needed a Pyro damage dealer. Hu Tao being a beast on top of being Pyro and Polearm user was a godsend. She's also quite likeable personality wise.

Venti is my favorite character in this game, likeable guy and broken from a gameplay perspective. Up until Zhongli's buff he was in every single one of my teams. I finally managed to bench him after Zhongli got buffed though. Zhongli now does arguably everything Venti does, but better (except grouping up enemies). Hope you grab Venti early so you can save for Zhongli (if you don't have him. Zhongli and Venti are must have units:

I half agree with you and half don't, lol. I like polearm users for the same reason you do, which is why I was mildly annoyed that initially, there as practically just 1 in the entire game. They seem to be fixing that now tho, obviously enough, as there's like about to be 5 or so now. But claymores still seem essential to me. And while I like Venti for his traversal utility, my Venti ain't shyt, lol. I mean, great for grouping up enemies for sure, but he's not wrecking shyt for me like that. I only have him at level 60 tho and never made him my top priority for gearing up. I prefer Sucrose to him actually.

I definitely understand that about speed. And some of the claymore users have that spinning charged attack, which is trash to me lol. Which weapon are you using for Hu Tao?

I have Zhongli, I didn't really use him much until I got Staff of Homa. Now he is indispensable and also married to that weapon. Which is kinda why I am relieved to get Diluc, now I don't have to make a difficult decision on who gets Staff of Homa. Instead I can put Skyward Pride on Diluc and have a true 2nd pyro option for abyss. I was tired of using Xiangling as a sub dps or forcing my under powered Xinyan to be a main dps.

I assume you and @hex are going constellation hunting on these rerun banners coming up?

It ultimately comes down to preference. Claymore users are slower, but hit harder. Polearm users are faster. I prefer faster because there’s a bunch of buffs and debuffs you can use to boost damage. Plus, like I said, Polearm users are flashier to me, so they’re cooler.

I’m using Skyward Spine on Xiao, it’s not the best Polearm for damage but it boosts his normal attack speed even more. It’s amazing. Feels like I’m playing DMC or Ninja Gaiden. To me speed is always the best/more fun option. I’m actually hoping that eventually we get an artifact set that boosts movement and attack speed. It’s the reason why I wanted a Jean banner because her C2 boosts both attack and movement speed for the party. Motherfukkers came up with a Childe re-run during a Mondstadt festival instead of Jean

I’m using Blackcliff Polearm. Weapon banner screwed me over and gave me two Wolf’s Gravestone, which is fukked up cause I don’t use Claymores Like I said, I haven’t even begun to invest into Hu Tao and she’s bodying shyt already.

and nah. I'm going to skip the next couple of banners. No interest in Childe and my Venti is a monster as is. Hu Tao was the last piece to my puzzle as I was really only missing a Pyro damage dealer. I will probably just stack up primos now until Ayaka drops or pull on the weapon banner every now and again if/whenever they have two weapons I'm interested in.

I don't have either of those characters so I'd just be happy getting them.

I got Qiqi on the original Venti banner and I honestly never went after Childe. Not a fan of bow users so I never wanted him but I do have Skyward Harp which I'm not even using and it's the best weapon for him so

I figure I might as well.
