This is the smart move by Marvel. They seem to be willing to let directors cook even more so than they did in the past (since Perlmutter is gone).

I'm curious is he'll be taking over the Avengers movies after the Russo's move on or if they'll give that job to one of the other directors in their stable.

With all that said I hope the third one is Gunn's last Guardians film. After three movies it'll be time for a new creative voice and I'm sure Gunn will be ready to move on by then.
