beyerdynamics dt770 pros are the pair i use and they're amazing. they're perfect studio headphones for mixing. i'm thinking about copping a pair of the young guru tma-1's for everyday use since they look more casual in public put still provide the best in sound.

What people fail to research is that headphones wont show their true abilities until you break them in.

I bought the Sony Mh1c when people were raving about them on Headfi.org as "Sleeper" ear phones and listened to them the first and was just like:yeshrug:

Did some research and found out the quickest way to break in headphones is using Pink Noise

Downloaded a 5 min pink noise track in WAV format:jawalrus:

Plugged in headphones and let the pink noise play on repeat for 90 hrs over a week period.

Listened to them again and was like:wow:

When the Beats first came out I copped them, and since they were the first good pair of headphones I ever used I was initially blown away. I ended up selling them not that long after and had been using the Zune premium earbuds for awhile, which are really fukking good for how cheap they are. Looking back, the Beats are serviceable and the bass is pretty good, but nowhere near worth the price.

However, I recently got the WeSC RZA Premium Headphones and :blessed:

WeSC x RZA: Chambers by RZA

The looks, comfort, and sound are all :ohlawd:

However, after a month or so I blew out the right headphone and was pissed. (I used a DAC amplifier so normal use will not blow them out) Amazon refunded my money and I got the Audiotechnica ATH-M50 because I heard such great things about them. I was actually kind of disappointed, they sounded about as good as the RZA ones but the sound was much more geared towards studio/mixing use, as each sound was heard very distinctly, whereas the RZA's sound was more warm and full. So I finally redeemed the warranty through WeSC and am very happy I got my RZAs back. Actually I'm looking to sell the Audiotechnicas for like $100 bucks if anyone is interested, I used them for only like 3 weeks.

Edit: Btw everyone who listens to headphones needs to cop a Fiio amplifier. I have the E6 which is great value for 30 bucks and the E07K which is the shyt because of the DAC converter. They both make a HUGE difference, especially with in ear headpones.

Great post.

1. 3 Weeks probably aint enough time to break them shyts in.

2. Yeah everybody has a different sound signature preference. If you want that overall warm dynamic sound geared towards casual listening and probably hip hop music, the M50's might not be the very best for you.

But if you looking for perfectly flat sound delivery & separtion. Highs, Mids, & Bass delivered perfectly and not muddled together. Hearing sounds in songs you've never heard before. When they're amped, the cleaness & thump of the bass and the highs still coming through sharply. Listen to Rythmalism on these shyts breh:wow:

For $150 I don't think you can find a better pair.

yall got any good suggestions for those normal ass headphones that fit in your ear, not the ear-plug type ones but the ones that just chill in your ear, I've gone through like 4 pairs because the cord always gets fukked up and I lose sound.
