Watching streams of hip hop concerts really show that hip hop is made for small club venues. Big stages far away from the crowd is just destroying the atmosphere. I love rap but rock concerts is way better when it comes to bigger stages or stadiums.

Doesn't help that many of todays rappers have no idea how to entertain a large crowd (or a small crowd for that matter).

I watched all of coachella, and even indie pop/rock groups crowd had people just there casually swaying while you had Flatbush Zombies and ASAP Ferg having people go crazy ( as you would expect)

hot97 is showcasing mainstream hip hop which is arguably hot trash when compared to other commercialized music genres

mainstream hip hop concerts are usually just karoke fest with vocals playing over the track... I can't get down with that but I'm noticing more rappers transitioning out of that
