I ain't mad at you bruh. At 10 listens I thought it was trash too.
Think on like the 30th I realised I was vibin to it :steviej:

I gave it so many listens because I trust Ye more than my own ears :sadbron: All his previous albums were dope to me.

30 fukkin times? :why:

this is some supreme upper echelon type stanning

you could force yourself to like drag-on's the opposite of h20 if you listened to it 30 fukkin times :childplease:

Come on, the 30 listens shyt was obviously an exaggeration :pachaha:
There's 3 or 4 songs I liked on 1st listen but just didn't appreciate it as a project.
It took a while but now I feel it.

So u forced the album on yourself lol. Why are nikkaz acting like this is a treasure hunt and more listens reveal the true gems on it?! :laff:

Trust your gut instinct nikkaz... This is over intellectualized over produced kaka. Unlike the team of people around ye his fans need to be honest. There is nothing to get or not get it didn't go over anyone's head. Had the lyrics been meaningful y'all might have a point.

This nikka got Lupe to write new slaves perhaps the most meaningful song on there but he just recites it with emptiness regardless of its content. Listen to what the song is saying, talking about nikkaz being slaves to vanity from the Luis Vuitton don himself... Ironic. And after all he gonna go back to the flossy talk :snoop:

I rock with he but not this time. He had a worldwide audience attentive taking over plazas and squares in cities to air that filthy slap in the face song cussing and all when if he really cared about any of the shyt he says on new slaves he would have made the song listenable minus all the unnecessary foul language. Instead he yelled a bunch of nikkaz and muthafukaz angrily @ an international audience. Way to make your point ye!

I liked it the first 5 or so times I listened to it.

Haven't played it since. It's ultimately too boring and threadbare to demand numerous listenings. I have no problem with short albums, in fact I prefer them, but when the songs aren't really all that complex, dense or compelling, just makes for a weak album.

So I don't know if I ever liked it :leon:

I think the most annoying thing about this whole album, isn't even really the album itself. It will fall away into the ether like most rap albums.

The most cringe-worthy thing was the pro-yeezus media assault that took place. Not even really taking about reviews of the album but more the intellectual posturing done by grad students, pseuds and Ye stans that showed up on tumblr, huff post, gawker, w magazine, those type of outlets.

The overwrought dissection, discussion and formulation of weak theses of the album and Kanye as a celebrity and person was nauseating to read.

Most of the pieces read like pre-written salvos straight from a Kanye press kit. Kanye desperately wants to be seen as an edgy genius, and these people uncritically allow it because their fandom prevents them for thinking any other way, instead of the other way, just some dude who has made some of the songs on my iPod.
