Slotkin got cooked, democratic politicans need to have internal meetings over how to handle their views on Israel going forward. it's become more than obvious to even the normie population that democrat leaders and it's base aren't on the same page politically. A year and a half ago, dems could somehow defend shielding Israel from its war crimes; now it has become absolutely indefensible at this point to the vast majority of voters even republicans.

Yeah, I’m not sure what Slotkin is so hesitant on. She correctly said she isn’t a huge AIPAC person, and Michigan does have a good Jewish and Muslim population she was able to win with their support last year. She’s in her first year in the Senate. Maybe she’s thinking of higher office?

But there’s a reckoning coming within the Dem party. A reckoning that I thought was still a long ways away.

It's probably considered taboo to openly fundamentally disagree with the party's leadership on Israel's foreign policy regardless of superpac money. Slotkin couldn't even explain justifiably with reason why Israel should be considered our ally which is disastrous look. Her response to if she would consider what is happening in Gaza a genocide or not is laughable at best... proclaiming Israel military just suffers from incompetence..... is just insulting to both her Jewish and muslim constituents. Dems have to do better if they expect to face real journalism and not just cnn ball washing " do you condemn October 7th" nonsense.

The Democrat's leader and rank and file do not care about Palestinian lives and are in lock and step in support of Israel.

The thing we have do is find and support candidates who believe genocide is bad and won't support that, and support them next year.

I think it was Saagar in that interview that told Slotkin that starvation, ethnic cleansing, re-settlement is the goal. The ministers say it.

And the reflection goes to her saying she's opposed to all of that.

I've been finding that debating the backers serves no purpose. All I do now is just show the latest thing Smotrich, Katz, Ben Gvir, Eliyahu or Netanyahu himself (in Hebrew) is saying which is the reality.

A lot of aid going to be dropped after republicans ran up the debt scoreboard more and citizens will view, as they already do, foreign aid as superfluous spending we will do without.

In reality what we will likely continue to see is the shift further away from soft power with the assumption that the US military and economy can be leveraged to keep Americans safe instead.

With most people soon to be out of work or unable to travel due to AI job disruption and the erosion of the federal safety net, creating a world where it’s safe for Americans abroad might not matter

Just hearing from some people, I think foreign aid will continue but its gonna be different.

But Israel and Egypt are the two untouchables. Jordan is right after.

Anytime! It’s super important to really understand what’s actually happening and who certain messaging is aimed at when the Big Dogs are brawling because there is much information warfare that is happening.

I also meant to respond to your earlier post in here. I had a similar thing happen to me recently. I’m not allowed to post in the Iran thread. There’s a lot still happening there that I’ve been unable to share. It’s like people just want to believe whatever they see on TikTok and aligns with their worldview.
