In KS terms, Joe is a high value entertainer willing to exercise options, Mal and Rory are overweight uncooperative women in the "dangerzone"



In all seriousness, Mal seems more invested in respect and transparency than actually bringing good content and energy for the pod. Rory while at times dry and irritable at least comes with topics and some knowledge, opinions. Mal does have some good jokes and comebacks on occasion.
