agree and disagree

I think (in Joe’s head) he always saw himself as the “creator” of the podcast, not his friends.

businesses have employees. Employees have paid roles. If (and I don’t know if this is correct or not) Mal and Rory signed contracts to Joe and were getting paid, then he is entirely correct from a business standpoint. No one can go to their boss and say “let me see the splits” and have a reasonable conversation. If Rory and Mal signed employment agreements with Joe (the same as Ian) to work for him, then :yeshrug:

The funny thing is, you know where you’ve been. If you know you’ve never talked to Spotify, if you know you’ve never been privy to YouTube conversations, etc. and Joe is the one doing the heavy lifting as far as negotiations, why would you expect him to owe you a report? It seems like they were completely naive (at 30 and 39 :mjlol:) to how business is done.

If you want equity, make sure you don’t sign an employment contract :manny:

As a friend though, Joe is a scumbag.

exactly. you can ask for equity after the fact. but if you don't get it, that's as much on you as it is the person saying no. you signed the contract.

said it already, but joe is an a$$hole for talking that creator shyt, treating his boys like equal partners, and then treating them like employees when it suited him. if they were employees then just keep it a buck from day one.

The Dussepalooza dude? You don't remember Joe taking an overtly manipulative approach to that whole situation when it was brought to the podcast?

I don't necessarily disagree with the idea Rory and Mal played themselves. But Joe appears to need help dealing with other human beings.
How many alley oops are you going to miss from an actual famous rap artist with actual famous industry relationships?

Jesus Christ, stop babying these dudes.

Lest we forget, Rory threatened to fight Joe on his own goddamn podcast. Yall are way better than me for even condoning that.

She was real tight with Joe for a long time and he fukked her over too.

She was basically a yes woman for Joe until he turned on her like he does everyone else.
I remember her from L&HH I was just confused why she constantly tweets this cryptic shyt. I couldn't tell is about Joe

All these people talking about they didn't create the pod so they don't deserve ownership. Is that really how it works? To me the shyt is about value that determines or should determine any sort of equity you get in a business. Love them or hate them the podcast came up and got popular because of the antics of all three members(no one gives a shyt about Parks). That to me is reason enough to demand equity.

Wait so you feel that if Joe signs a 30m Spotify deal

Joe should get 29,930,000

and Rory and Mal Should get 35k a piece?

You honestly feel that is fair?

Because that is what Joe is basically saying.

No. I never said that. But Joe owns the platform and Mal and Rory are employees. They should get paid a lot of money because the show brings in a lot of money. But they don’t deserve equity in the show just because they’ve been on it since forever and helped made it popular. This argument is about ownership. That’s it. Not how much they get paid, but how the equity of the show is split.

they shouldn't be asking the Boss for an audit. :yeshrug:

Also this nikka Mal shows up and only adds to the conversation 10% of the time. But he wants to see financials :camby:
Then had the nerve to tell his boss joe that he should have shut down the business and consulted with mal first after mal VOLUNTARILY walked off the show

shyt is WILD how brehs in here are defending rory and mals flagrant violations

Everybody was laughing but the way he did Marissa was foul. Joe has a history of blowing things up and not taking accountability. I’m a fan but there’s no way I’d go into business with him.

I can’t believe stans were tryna cape for his Spotify contract actions. nikka had no tact or business sense and was just rambling. And now here we are
Foul this.

Foul that.

How?

Shorty this is a podcast that thrives on energy and relationships.

Be thankful you were even there.
