Is he still scared because why is he still leaving the door open for them to come back. Doesn't he know what he has with Ice and Ish or do those 2 know they might be Joe's last co hosts so they would have leverage on Joe

Telling folks they can come back after you’ve burned every bridge and disrespected them for the world to see is some passive aggressive shyt. They not coming back and he doesn’t expect them to.

After finally listening to the ep and the after-episode comments...few thoughts. The next time we hear from Rory and Mal will basically be the last time we hear from Rory and Mal. After we hear their side of the story it's basically a wrap. They overplayed their leverage and what they've become has no real interest outside of the Joe Budden orbit. Does anyone want to hear Mal sitting in a corner saying a couple dumb words here or there, while Rory throws out industry lingo and slang? Like who wants to hear from these bums again, after they tell us their side...

Joe is a liar, sociopath, and will fail...but end of the day he's right. Name a job where you can demand to see the books in the middle of the year.

This is why I understand Rory and Mal's side of the argument. I feel like it's a chicken and egg scenario, if you want them to put effort into building the brand then give them a small piece of ownership. Don't tell them that they will never be more than contracted employees under you, then expect them to do more than just show up when contractually obligated.

They took time out of their day and showed up for free to pod with Joe for years, you can't say that wasn't real effort put in before ever turning a profit.

they were investing in themselves more so than the pod or joe if we are keeping it a bean.

they did not show up out of the kindness or their heart. They had the foresight that the pod could be lucrative and a windfall down the line. Same thing for Ish and Ice.

them doing the pod for free was a play. Not some charity act we should all commend them for

This was basically Dev Nasty argument to Gillie in the MDWOG drama
Thing is there doesn't have to be money involved for a contract to be drawn
If someone wants you to work for free while they build the brand, cool.....get the equity splits in writing THEN when you actually have leverage since they need you involved
(That's basically how IT startups get early stage employees to work for under market rates, they agree to give a % of some future split whenever the business cashes in)
Once BarStool or Spotify or who ever comes with a check to the person who owns the IP on paper you're assed out and the years of free work doesn't mean shyt :manny:
