Were Rory and mal the voice of the youth or some shyt ?

aren’t ice and mal like the same age lol

and I find it hard to believe Rory has his finger on the pulse of current hip hop

They'r more plugged in to the music scene and actually go outside.

Ish and Ice are 9 to 5ers with families.

So, yeah, R&M were the proxy voice of the youth

It's not that they won't allow themselves to, they can't, lol. The fans of the podcast have known Mal and Rory and the chemistry with them and Budden for years and years and years...that is the Joe Budden Podcast, them 3.

...You throw 2 new dudes on there, 2 dudes most of the fanbase don't know, and think it's gonna be the same? How?? The listeners have no rapport with these guys. Budden would have been better off just doing the podcast by himself, as in only him on the screen, while the other off-screen people that the listeners know chime in but off-screen...that sense of familiarity is important when shyt changes. Do that for a couple weeks while saying you will be bringing in 2 new good friends soon, explain who they are and your history and some funny stories, etc... to warm the listeners up to them...then bring them on. You can't just shock the audience by throwing 2 strangers up there immediately out of nowhere and yelling "Action!", it looks ridiculous.

This is facts. I think it helps that I already thought Mal and Rory were bad at podding

They are absolutely way more washed than Rory and Mal.

Rory was one of the ‘founders’ of a huge party series in Hennypalooza that myself and others in their 20s / early 30s remember being at. He also manages emotional oranges and he’s leveraging other relationships he has in the music industry for this ‘album’ he’s curating or whatever.

Mal is older but he definitely acts younger than Ice and Ish. And he’s a likable guy w/ a number of good relationships, that were useful to the pod. Mal was the one who set up the look w/ KD and his 35 ventures group. The only place any of these new guys are talking to KD is yelling at him while playing 2k

Ish is 40+ and already had his BM air him out for being a deadbeat dad, in between him reminiscing like an old head about tag teaming chicks w/ Joe. Even Joe makes fun of him for being old. Are you listening to the sleepers he chooses? Ice isn’t quite 40 yet but he’s a parent and about to marry his queen, he literally talks about how he himself isn’t outside.

I don’t hate Joe or have this insane loyalty to Rory / Mal at all, but the last month or so of podcasts have just felt boring as hell to me with a lil bit of nasty here and there

Rory & Mal don’t have to rush anything out.... most folks in here want them to rush shyt out only to pick holes in the shyt lol. They’ll be fine... shyt is being done. They don’t have to post every little thing. They ain’t linked in with some fools

They actually discuss more current music with Ice and Ish and the relationship convos are much better

I think this has more to do with Joe just running down what was the talk of social media since the last episode.

Joe really needs to put more into the topics he discusses

People just want them to release their shyt so internet weirdos could support it just to spite Joe. It's best they take their time and do with right, especially Mal being the black man, he can't just take a back seat and let Rory lead the show. Rory is a good b mic, Mal hasn't even been a good c mic for years, he definitely needs to step it up big because that "too cool to relate" mentality ain't gonna work.

Yo, it irks me that Maino's Pod always has audio issues. Because he has great content. Maino needs to hire an engineer to handle that. Besides that, I think Kitchen Talk is great.
