And she's been friends with Rory for awhile now so people saying she's doing this as a business move are wrong.

He's probably makes enough to live comfortably off patreon, but is definitely not where he should be at this point in the game.

He should have been doing patreon and looking for sponsors for the free platforms before going with spotify. It's like he's moving in the opposite direction and just now realized he needs a revenue stream, but he's burned so many bridges No one wants to fukk with him.


If he would have came to spotify with a bunch of sponsors backing him like Joe rogan did, he could have gotten what he was looking for. Rory knew this years ago but Joe clowned him on air for trying to read "me undies" ads on the podcast. Joe rogan gladly reads underwear ads on his podcast, but Joe budden couldn't figure out why he didn't get the same check.

It's because he thinks he's smarter than he really is. He thought he was being forward thinking by not having any sponsors, like he thinks people would legit stop listening if there was a few minutes of ads every podcast.

He went to Spotify with absolutely nothing to show how profitable the podcast was, only numbers he was relying on was the amount of subscribers he brought to Spotify and he didn’t even have those numbers to negotiate his price.

If he had a half dozen or more sponsors he wouldn't have needed Spotify to give up their numbers to show how much money they were bringing in.


The sad part about it is that Rory had this shyt figured out before they got the spotify deal but Joe didn't want him involved in the business side and never considered his advice. People talk about rory being lazy but dude might have been the smartest among them when it came to business.

As boring as rory might be, I feel like he will end up being the sole reason the new podcast is successful because he seems like he goes above and beyond when it comes to projects he's involved in. Lord knows that shyt would be DOA if Mal was calling the shots.
