For a podcast that labels all entertainer’s antics as a rollout, they fail to mention that this Lizzo stuff is a rollout.

She didn’t start crying in her phone and go on a media tour to talk about receiving negative comments until she dropped that terrible song

Joe alluded to it and basically implied that by bringing up the song in the first place... got the impression he was glad they didn't deep dive on it and essentially participate in the roll out, the rest was kinda a meta conversation but not bout lizzo's situation directly

artist like Lizzo that make it to mainstream without or before they can build a core fanbase almost always have problems recreating that success for the next roll out.

Rumors is a bad song and I don’t think the Cardi stimulus will help

Dunno, the climate is such a way that many female artists with the right machine are going to do good regardless. I heard someone say Lizzo makes music for people who love the Hamilton play/soundtrack but hate rap music lmao. It's that super mainstream, glossed out pop r&b/rap wave. Add that up plus the miserable, overweight chicks who worship her and you have the recipe for an album that will stream very well. She doesn't need a hit, at least not some big one.
