Friday sequels were too goofy and not rooted in realism to overtake the first for me. They almost seem like a completely separate universe


The original Friday had an authentic hood feel. Like a genuine day in the hood with a comedic twist. The other 2 were nonstop wacky jokes about doo doo and over the top cartoonish characters. I stilled love them. Classics even.. but they don't hit the same to me. You can tell they were directed by whites (the first was F Gary Gray)
